Methodologies
The OpenEAC Alliance publishes open methodologies for measuring what distributed energy resources do. The current list, with each method’s status, is at methods.openeac.org, together with the Shared Guidelines that every method inherits.
How a methodology is approved
- The authors publish a draft as a Google Doc open to public comment.
- The maintainers list it on methods.openeac.org.
- A public comment period of at least 30 days opens.
- The authors revise the methodology from the comments.
- The final version is published as a dated PDF and archived with its full comment history.
A change to an approved methodology requires notice to all of its reviewers.
Comment or propose
To comment on a draft, open it from methods.openeac.org and comment in the document. To propose a methodology, send a Google Doc open to comment to mcgee@wattcarbon.com. The version history lives in the GitHub repository.
