OpenEAC Alliance

A volunteer group of measurement and verification practitioners. We write open methodologies for measuring what distributed energy resources do: the energy they save or shift, when they do it, and what that is worth to the grid.

Certificates issued under the methodologies are registered on WEATS, WattCarbon's hourly Energy Attribute Certificate registry. Anyone can read and comment on a draft.

The methodologies cover efficiency, electrification, solar, demand response and load shifting. Every method goes through at least 30 days of public comment before approval, and each approved version is archived with its full comment history.

The Alliance meets every quarter.

Next meeting: Thursday 12 November 2026, 9:00 to 9:50 am Pacific. Topic: grid utilization.

The invite goes to the Alliance's Google Group. To receive it, subscribe and we'll add you.
